Huang Jianxin is a Chinese filmmaker. He also writes film scripts under the pen name Huang Xin. He is normally considered part of the fifth generation of Chinese filmmakers, due to shared traits in his works, although he was not a strictly a member of the inaugural 1982 class of the Beijing Film Academy. Additionally, Huang's films are distinguished from his contemporaries in that they focused on urban contemporary life, as contrasted to historical dramas, as well as for their satirical observations of the Chinese bureaucracy.

Jacob Cheung Chi-Leung is a Hong Kong film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. His credits include A Battle Of Wits (2006), which was nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Golden Bauhinia Awards, and Beyond the Sunset (1989), which was nominated for two awards at the 9th Hong Kong Film Awards.

Andrew Timothy Birkin is an English screenwriter, director and occasional actor. He was born the only son of Lieutenant-Commander David Birkin and his wife, actress Judy Campbell. One of his sisters is the actress and singer Jane Birkin.

Soundarya Rajinikanth is an Indian graphic designer, producer and director who primarily works in the Tamil film industry. She is the founder and owner of Ocher Picture Productions. Soundarya began her career in films as a graphic designer. For those starring her father Rajinikanth, she designed the title sequences. She became a film producer with Goa (2010). She made her debut as a director with the film Kochadaiyaan (2014).

Renato De Maria is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed more than ten films since 1991.

Masato Harada is a Japanese film director, film critic, and sometimes an actor; he is best known to foreign audiences as Omura in The Last Samurai and as Mr Mita in Fearless. In both his acting roles he portrayed the villain who wants Japan to westernize under the Meiji Restoration in the meantime trying to remove the old ways.

Mario Camus García is a Spanish screenwriter and film director. He won the Golden Bear at the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival with La colmena. His 1987 film The House of Bernarda Alba was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival and in the main competition at the 15th Moscow International Film Festival. His 1993 film Shadows in a Conflict was entered into the 18th Moscow International Film Festival.

Fernando Colomo Gómez is a Spanish film producer, screenwriter and film director. He has also acted in small roles in his own and other's films. In the 2019 Spanish general election, he candidated to the Spanish Senate for Madrid within Recortes Cero - Grupo Verde - Partido Castellano - Tierra Comunera. His aim was to promote the list rather than becoming elected.
