For his work in film, Harris has been nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay as well as an Annie Award for Writing in a Feature Production.

Danny Lee Harris is an American former track and field athlete who specialized in the 400-meter hurdles. He won silver medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the 1987 World Championships in Rome, both behind Edwin Moses. His time of 48.02 in 1984 at age 18 is still the current world junior record.
