Yevgeny Vasilyevich Shevchuk was the 2nd President of the internationally unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic, better known as Transnistria. Furthermore, he was speaker of Pridnestrovian Supreme Soviet from 2005 to 2009, and the leader of the political party Obnovlenie until 2010.
