Erik Samsel Kristensen was a Lieutenant commander of the United States Navy SEALs who was killed in action during Operation Red Wings. He and several other SEALs set off as part of a search and rescue mission, hoping to assist a four-man SEAL team that was engaged in a firefight with Taliban fighters.

Norman Robert "Bud" Poile was a professional ice hockey player, coach, general manager, and league executive. Bud is the brother of Don Poile, and the father of David Poile.

Éva Novák-Gerard was a swimmer from Hungary, and the younger sister of Ilona Novák, who was also a famous swimmer for her native country. She won three medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, after a bronze four years earlier in London.

Lois Elsa Hole, CM, AOE was a Canadian politician, businesswoman, academician, professional gardener and best-selling author. She was the 15th Lieutenant Governor of Alberta from 10 February 2000 until her death. She was known as the "Queen of Hugs" for breaking with protocol and hugging almost everyone she met, including journalists, diplomats and other politicians.

Gopal Vinayak Godse was the younger brother of Nathuram Godse and has been accused as one of the conspirators in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on 30 January 1948. He was the last among them to die and lived his last days in Pune.

Claude Sylvain (1930–2005) was a French actor and singer. After appearing in films of the 1950s, playing in a mixture of female lead and supporting roles, she switched to appear as a performer in cabaret where she met her husband Francis Claude.
