Princess Marie Alexandra of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, since 1941 of Schleswig-Holstein was a member of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. Marie Alexandra was the fourth and youngest child of Wilhelm Friedrich, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein and his wife Princess Marie Melita of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Her older brother Peter was the Duke of Schleswig-Holstein and Head of the House of Oldenburg from 10 February 1965 until his death on 30 September 1980.

Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Howard was a British Army officer who was twice awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and was later awarded the Distinguished Service Order for leadership whilst commanding the 1st Battalion The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in the North-West Europe campaign during the Second World War. He later became Laird of the Hebridean island of Gometra.

Benedetto "Bettino" Craxi was an Italian politician, leader of the Italian Socialist Party from 1976 to 1993 and Prime Minister of Italy from 1983 to 1987. He was the first Italian Socialist Party member to become Prime Minister and the third from a socialist party to hold the office. He led the third-longest government in the Italian Republic and he is considered one of the most powerful and prominent politicians of the so-called First Republic.
