Ingo "Mr. Smile" Schwichtenberg was a German drummer and one of the founding members of German power metal band Helloween. Schwichtenberg was famous for his high-energy drumming—his Helloween bandmates gave him the nickname, "Mr. Smile", because he often appeared to be cheerful and smiling.

Akimitsu Takagi , was the pen-name of a popular Japanese crime fiction writer active during the Shōwa period of Japan. His real name was Takagi Seiichi.

Onishi Tetsunosuke was a professor of Waseda University, coach of the Japan national rugby union team and Waseda University Rugby Football Club. He has been described as a Japanese Carwyn James and was a coach of considerable achievements. He also served as a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee.

Robert Henry Sorgenfrey was an American mathematician and Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles. The Sorgenfrey line and the Sorgenfrey plane are named after him; the Sorgenfrey line was the first example of a normal topological space whose product with itself is not normal.
