The murder of Sylvia Likens was a child murder case that occurred in Indianapolis, Indiana in October 1965. Likens, aged 16, was held captive and subjected to increasing levels of child abuse and torture—committed over a period of almost three months—by her caregiver, Gertrude Baniszewski, many of Baniszewski's children, and several other neighborhood children, before ultimately succumbing to her injuries and malnourishment on October 26.

Sergey Nikolayevich Filippov (Russian: Серге′й Никола′евич Фили′ппов, 24 June 1912, Saratov, Russian Empire — 19 April 1990, Leningrad, USSR was a Soviet film and theatre actor, best known for his parts in films Adventures of Korzinkina, The Night Patrol and the adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's classic The Twelve Chairs, which granted him the People's Artist of the RSFSR title in 1974.

Keith Allen Haring was an American artist whose pop art and graffiti-like work grew out of the New York City street culture of the 1980s. Much of his work includes sexual allusions that turned into social activism. He achieved this by using sexual images to advocate for safe sex and AIDS awareness.

Eric Wilson "Hank" Gathers Jr. was an American college basketball player for the Loyola Marymount Lions in the West Coast Conference (WCC). As a junior in 1989, he became the second player in NCAA Division I history to lead the nation in scoring and rebounding in the same season. Gathers was a consensus second-team All-American as a senior in 1990. His No. 44 was retired by the Lions, who also placed a statue of him in his honor outside their home arena Gersten Pavilion.

Cassius Marcellus Clay was an American painter and musician. He was the father of three-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali and Rahman Ali, and the paternal grandfather of Laila Ali. He married Odessa Lee O'Grady in 1934 and worked as a painter and a musician. He was described as "a handsome, mercurial, noisy, combative failed dreamer" and a "hard-drinking, skirt-chasing dandy of a daddy". His son Muhammad Ali described him as "the fanciest dancer in Louisville".

Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum was the Vice-President and 2nd Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. He ruled the emirate for 32 years from 1958 until his death in 1990.
