Antônio de Almeida Lustosa was a Brazilian Roman Catholic prelate and professed member from the Salesians of Don Bosco. Lustosa served in two dioceses and two archdioceses in his career where he was reputed for his holiness and his learning. He introduced a range of innovations from media to new parishes and seminaries in order to restore his dioceses and archdioceses. He was a constant evangelizer and was also an author who wrote children's literature and music in addition to hagiographical and theological works. Lustosa was still a reluctant bishop but accepted each new position in obedience. But his health forced him to retire in 1963 and he still remained a noted pastor following his resignation.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi was the Ruler of Fujairah, one of the Trucial States which today form the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 1938–1974. In 1952 he was to see his father's long-held dream of independence for Fujairah recognised by the British, as well as shortly afterwards to help take the UAE to independence as a nation, in 1971.

Anton Grot was a Polish art director long active in Hollywood. He was known for his prolific output with Warner Brothers, contributing, in such films as Little Caesar (1931), and Gold Diggers of 1933 to the distinctive Warners look and style. According to a TCM profile, he showed a "flair for harsh realism, Expressionistic horror and ornate romantic moods alike".

Edwin Eugene "Gene" Aldrin Sr. was an aviator and officer in the United States Army during World War I and World War II. He was assistant commandant of the Army's first test pilot school at McCook Field, Ohio, from 1919 to 1922, and founded the engineering school there that later became the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson AFB. The Edwin E. Aldrin Sr. Award is presented to an AFIT graduate for leadership and accomplishing AFIT's educational objectives in an outstanding manner. He was the father of astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
