Hans Hermes was a German mathematician and logician, who made significant contributions to the foundations of mathematical logic. Hermes was born in Neunkirchen, Germany.

Israel Melnikoff, known professionally as Robert Mellin, was a Ukrainian-born American composer and lyricist and music publisher. Born in Kiev and raised in Chicago, where his first job was music plugger at Remick Music. In the early 1940s he moved to New York, where he founded his own company in 1947.

Lionel Banes (1904–1996) was a British cinematographer and special effects photographer. During and after the Second World War he was employed by Ealing Studios and shot the 1949 Ealing Comedy Passport to Pimlico. Later in his career he worked on a variety of television productions including many episodes of the 1960s series The Saint.
