Henry Louis "Skip" Gates Jr. is an American literary critic, professor, historian, filmmaker, and public intellectual who serves as the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and Director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University. He rediscovered the earliest African-American novels, long forgotten, and has published extensively on appreciating African-American literature as part of the Western canon.

Alexander Vladimirovich Rutskoy is a Russian politician and a former Soviet military officer, Major General of Aviation (1991). He served as the only Vice President of Russia from 10 July 1991 to 4 October 1993 and as the Governor of Kursk Oblast from 1996 to 2000. In September 1993 Rutskoy was proclaimed the Acting President of Russia following Boris Yeltsin's impeachment which led to the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993 where he played one of the key roles.

Nigel Williams-Goss is an American professional basketball player for the Lokomotiv Kuban of the VTB United League and the EuroCup. He was selected by the Utah Jazz, with the 55th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He played college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. He spent two seasons with the University of Washington's Huskies, before deciding to transfer before the 2015–16 season. At a height of 6'2" tall, his main position is point guard, but he can also play shooting guard.

Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi was an Indian Carnatic singer from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She was the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. She is the first Indian musician to receive the Ramon Magsaysay award, often considered Asia's Nobel Prize, in 1974 with the citation reading "Exacting purists acknowledge Srimati M. S. Subbulakshmi as the leading exponent of classical and semi-classical songs in the carnatic tradition of South India. She was the First Indian who performed in United Nations General Assembly in 1966."
