Louis Du Bois was a Huguenot colonist in New Netherland who, with two of his sons and nine other refugees, founded the town of New Paltz, New York. These Protestant refugees fled Catholic persecution in France, emigrating to the Rhenish Palatinate and then to New Netherland, where they settled in Wiltwyck and Nieuw Dorp (present-day Hurley, New York, settlements midway between New Amsterdam and Beverwyck before ultimately founding New Paltz.

Savio Hon Tai-fai SDB is a Roman Catholic archbishop and the nuncio of the Holy See to Greece. He served as secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples from 2010 to 2017. Before that he was professor of theology at the Holy Spirit Seminary of Hong Kong.

James Addams Beaver was an American attorney, recruiter and field commander of Pennsylvania Infantry who was wounded four times during the Civil War, and politician who served as the 20th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1887 to 1891. He also served as the acting president of the Pennsylvania State University from 1906 to 1908.
