Philip II Philoromaeus or Barypous, a ruler of the Hellenistic Seleucid kingdom, was the son of the Seleucid king Philip I Philadelphus, and the last Seleucid king.

Issa Makhlouf is a Lebanese writer and poet who lives in Paris where he is currently the News Director at Radio Orient. He obtained a doctorate in Cultural Anthropology at the Sorbonne and was professor at the University (E.S.I.T.) Paris III. Makhlouf also was a special UN Counsellor of Cultural and Social Affairs in the 61st session of the General Assembly (2006–2007).

Irwin Stone (1907–1984) was an American biochemist, chemical engineer, and author. He was the first to use ascorbic acid in the food processing industry as a preservative, and originated and published the hypothesis that humans require much larger amounts of Vitamin C for optimal health than is necessary to prevent scurvy.

John Roger or Rogerios, also known as John Dalassenos, was a Byzantine aristocrat of Norman descent, son-in-law of Byzantine emperor John II Komnenos and Caesar. In 1143, he unsuccessfully conspired to seize the throne.

Toda Kazuaki was a samurai in the service of Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1601, Ieyasu gave Kazuaki the fiefdom of Zeze in Omi.
