Cirilo de Alameda y Brea O.F.M. Obs. was a cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was archbishop of Toledo 1857–1867.

Richard "Dick" Sheldon was the winner of the gold medal in the men's shot put at the 1900 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France. Sheldon, an American, won with a throw of 14.10 m. He also won a bronze medal in the discus throw. Sheldon's brother Lewis competed at the same Olympics, winning two bronze medals in jumping events.

Walter Henry "Hy" Heath was an American entertainer, songwriter, composer and author. Born in Oakville, Tennessee, he educated in public schools and then became a comedian in musical comedy, vaudeville, minstrel and burlesque shows.

Henry Peach Robinson was an English pictorialist photographer best known for his pioneering combination printing - joining multiple negatives or prints to form a single image; an early example of photomontage. He joined vigorously in contemporary debates in the photographic press and associations about the legitimacy of 'art photography' and in particular the combining of separate images into one.
