On 9 May 1988, Tarabini reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 29. Her career-high doubles ranking is No. 12, which she achieved on 17 August 1998. Patricia turned pro in 1986, and won a total of 15 top-level doubles titles in her career. She is the 1996 French Open mixed-doubles champion, partnering with Javier Frana.
