Frederick Bartlett Fancher was an American politician who was the seventh Governor of North Dakota from 1899 to 1901.

Gregor Rabinovitch was a Ukrainian-born film producer who worked for many years in the German film industry. He emigrated to France from the Soviet Union in the early 1920s. After working for a time in Germany, he left following the Nazi takeover of power in 1933, and spent a number of years in France and the United States. He later returned and died in Munich in 1953.

William Adamson was a Scottish trade unionist and Labour politician. He was Leader of the Labour Party from 1917 to 1921 and served as Secretary of State for Scotland in 1924 and during 1929–1931 in the first two Labour ministries headed by Ramsay MacDonald.

Walter John "Jack" Buchanan was a tall (1.88m) Scottish theatre and film actor, singer, dancer, producer and director. He was known for three decades as the embodiment of the debonair man-about-town in the tradition of George Grossmith Jr., and was described by The Times as "the last of the knuts." He is best known in America for his role in the classic Hollywood musical The Band Wagon in 1953.

Pavel Karlovich Shternberg was a Russian professor, academic, astronomer, Bolshevik and revolutionary of German decent. Shternberg contributed to the abolition of the Czarist government by Alexander Kerensky during the February Revolution of 1917. He was friends with two notable revolutionaries, Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky.

Arthur Mengeh was a German politician who was the mayor of Hanover from 1925 to 1937.
