Robert Förstemann is a German track cyclist specialising in the sprint disciplines and world champion in team sprint in 2010.

Andrey Valeryevich Kartapolov is a Russian politician and former army officer of the Russian Army. From 30 July 2018 to October 2021 he served as Deputy Defence Minister, and headed the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces. He had commanded the Western Military District from 2015 to 2016, and again from 2017 to 2018. Kartapolov has held the rank of colonel general since 2015. He is currently a member of parliament, a deputy of the State Duma, elected on 19 September 2021.

Heinrich Liebe was a German naval officer during World War II. He served as a U-boat commander and then in the High Command of the Kriegsmarine. Liebe was credited with sinking of 34 ships for a total of 187,267 gross register tons (GRT). He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves of Nazi Germany. It was the country's highest military decoration at the time of its presentation to Liebe.

René Wolff is an Olympic and world champion track cyclist from Germany.

Stefan Krauße is an East German-German luger who competed from the mid-1980s to 1998. Together with Jan Behrendt he won two Olympic gold medals, one silver medal (1988) and one bronze (1994) in men's doubles.

Christian August Vulpius was a German novelist and dramatist. His sister married the noted German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
