Hannah Gadsby is an Australian comedian, writer, actress and television presenter. She rose to prominence after winning the national final of the Raw Comedy competition for new comedians in 2006, and has since toured internationally as well as appearing on television and radio.

Matthew Scott Wade is an Australian cricketer, who has represented the Australian national team as wicket-keeper in all three forms of international cricket. He plays domestic first-class and List A cricket for the Tasmanian cricket team, also acting as the team's captain. He plays domestic Twenty20 cricket for the Hobart Hurricanes.

Timothy David Paine is an Australian international cricketer who currently captains the Australian national team in Test cricket. A right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper, he plays for the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian domestic cricket and was the captain of the Hobart Hurricanes before his selection for Australia in the 2017–18 Ashes series.

Errol Leslie Thomson Flynn was an Australian-born actor. Considered the natural successor to Douglas Fairbanks, he achieved worldwide fame during the Golden Age of Hollywood. He was known for his romantic swashbuckler roles, frequent partnerships with Olivia de Havilland, and reputation for his womanising and hedonistic personal life. Jacquiline Louise Lambie, known as Jacqui Lambie, is an Australian politician who is the leader and founder of the Jacqui Lambie Network (JLN). She was a Senator for Tasmania from 2014 to 2017, and was re-elected in 2019.

Eddie Jones is an Australian rugby union coach and former player, who has been the head coach of the England national team since 2015. He previously coached Australia between 2001 and 2005, taking the team to the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final. He was an assistant coach for South Africa when the Springboks won the 2007 Rugby World Cup and from 2012 to 2015 he coached Japan, leading them in the 2015 Rugby World Cup and their upset win over South Africa. In November 2015, Jones was appointed as head coach for England and led them to win the 2016 Six Nations Championship and the 2017 Six Nations Championship, becoming only the second international rugby team to go the entire calendar year unbeaten. He led England through the 2019 Rugby World Cup where they defeated defending champions New Zealand in the semi-final before losing the final to South Africa.

Rachael May Taylor is an Australian actress and model. Her first leading role was in the Australian series headLand (2005–2006). Ariarne Titmus is an Australian swimmer. She currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. In 2015, Titmus and her family moved from Tasmania to Queensland for better training opportunities. She competed in the women's 200 metre freestyle event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships.

Martin John Bryant is a convicted Australian mass shooter who murdered thirty-five people and injured twenty-three others in the Port Arthur massacre, one of the world's deadliest shooting sprees, in Port Arthur, Tasmania, between 28 and 29 April 1996. He is concurrently serving 35 life sentences, plus 1,035 years, all without the possibility of parole, at Risdon Prison in Hobart.
