He moved to Cardiff City in 2017, and helped them win promotion to the Premier League in 2018. In 2020, he signed for Sheffield Wednesday.

Paul John Sweeney is a Scottish Labour and Co-operative Party politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Glasgow North East and Shadow Under-Secretary of State for Scotland in the 57th Parliament of the United Kingdom, from 2017 until he lost his seat in 2019.
