John Duncan "Jock" Semple was a Scottish-American runner, physical therapist, trainer, and sports official. In 1967, he attained worldwide notoriety as a race official for the Boston Marathon, when he attempted to tear off the bib number from 20 year old marathon runner Kathrine Switzer. Switzer was officially entered in the race in accordance with the Boston Marathon's rule book which at that time made no mention of gender, despite Semple saying that amateur rules banned women racing for more than a mile and a half. He subsequently oversaw implementation of qualifying times in 1970 and, in response to lobbying and rule changes by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the implementation of a separate women's race in 1972.

John Colum Crichton-Stuart, 7th Marquess of Bute, styled Earl of Dumfries before 1993, is a Scottish peer and a former racing driver, most notably winning the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans. He does not use his title and prefers to be known solely as John Bute, although he had previously been called Johnny Dumfries before his ascension to the Marquessate. The family home is Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute. He attended Ampleforth College, as had his father and most male members of the Crichton-Stuart family, but did not finish the normal five years of study.

Denis Law is a Scottish former footballer who played as a forward. His career as a football player began at Second Division Huddersfield Town in 1956. After four years at Huddersfield, he was signed by Manchester City for an estimated transfer fee of £55,000, which set a new British record. Law spent one year there before Torino bought him for £110,000, this time setting a new record fee for a transfer involving a British player. Although he played well in Italy, he found it difficult to settle there and signed for Manchester United in 1962, setting another British record transfer fee of £115,000.

Kevin Guthrie is a Scottish actor. Among his best known roles are Ally in Sunshine on Leith (2013) and Ewan in Terence Davies's 2015 film Sunset Song. He also performed the lead role in Peter Pan at King's Theatre, Glasgow, in 2011. He has since starred in the 2020 Netflix series, The English Game.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist. His artistic approach had much in common with European Symbolism. His work, alongside that of his wife Margaret Macdonald, was influential on European design movements such as Art Nouveau and Secessionism and praised by great modernists such as Josef Hoffmann. Mackintosh was born in Glasgow and died in London. He is among most important figures of Modern Style.

Greig Laidlaw is a Scottish rugby union player. He plays as a scrum-half and as a fly-half for Shining Arcs. Laidlaw holds the record for most caps as captain, 39, of the Scottish national team. He also represented the British and Irish Lions in 2017.

Jack William Hendry is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for K.V. Oostende, on loan from Celtic, and for the Scotland national team. Hendry has previously played for Partick Thistle, Wigan Athletic and Dundee. He has also had loan spells at Shrewsbury Town, Milton Keynes Dons and A-League club Melbourne City.

Grant Campbell Hanley is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Championship club Norwich City and the Scotland national team. He has previously played for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.

Edith Eleanor Smith is a Scottish radio DJ and TV presenter. She hosted the Weekday Afternoon Show and the Weekend breakfast on BBC Radio 1 until 2012, and has presented a variety of music-related television shows and music festivals.

Kevin McKidd is a British actor, television director, and occasional singer. Before playing the role of Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy, for which he is widely known, McKidd appeared as Tommy Mackenzie in Danny Boyle's Trainspotting (1996), Count Vronsky in the BBC miniseries Anna Karenina (2000), Lucius Vorenus in the historical drama series Rome (2005–2007) and Dan Vasser in the NBC series Journeyman (2007). He provided the voice of John "Soap" MacTavish in the video games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. He also played Poseidon in the film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and Father Deegan in the Father Ted Christmas special.
