Ilsur Metshin is a Russian politician of Tatar descent. He was born in Nizhnekamsk. Since 1993 he worked in Kazan as a politician. Since 1998 he was Mayor of Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsky District and chairman of the Nizhnekamsk Council. Since 2005 November 17 he is the Mayor of Kazan, replacing Kamil Iskhakov. On September 4, 2015 he was selected as the new president of FC Rubin Kazan.

Dmitry Nikolaevich Chernyshenko is a Russian businessman and politician, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia since 2020. Previously he was the President of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Organizing Committee for the 2014 Winter Olympics which were held in Sochi, Russia.

Ludmila Semenyaka is a Soviet ballerina, born in Leningrad. She studied at the Vaganova School as a pupil of Nina Belikova. She joined the Kirov Ballet in 1970 and later the Bolshoi Ballet in 1972, where she was a prima ballerina. She was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1986 and received the USSR State Prize.

Igor Borisovich Moskvin was a Russian figure skating coach and competitor who represented the Soviet Union in pair skating with his partner Maya Belenkaya. He was an Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR and Honored Coach of the USSR.

Alexei Valeryevich Yashin is a Russian former professional ice hockey centre who played 12 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders, serving as captain of both teams. He also played nine seasons in the Russian Superleague (RSL) and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for Dynamo Moscow, CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and SKA Saint Petersburg.
