Abdel Karim al Kabli, sometimes spelled el Kably or al Kably, is a Sudanese singer, poet, composer, songwriter and humanitarian known for his songs with themes of love, passion, nationalism, Sudanese culture and folklore.

Mohamed Tahir Ayala is a Sudanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Sudan from February to April 2019. He previously served as the governor of Gezira state beginning in 2015. On 11 April 2019, he was deposed along with the other members of the government in the 2019 Sudanese coup d'état.

General Ibrahim Abboud was a Sudanese president and political figure. A career soldier, Abboud served in World War II in Egypt and Iraq. In 1949, Abboud became the deputy Commander in Chief of the Sudanese military. Upon independence, Abboud became the Commander in Chief of the Military of Sudan. He served as the head of state of Sudan between 1958 and 1964 and as president of Sudan in 1964; however, he soon resigned, ending Sudan's first period of military rule.
