Moritz Hermann Eduard Meier was a German classical philologist, born at Glogau.

Christoph Bernhard was born in Kolberg, Pomerania, and died in Dresden. He was a German Baroque composer and musician. He studied with former Sweelinck-pupil Paul Siefert in Danzig and in Warsaw. By the age of 20 he was singing at the electoral court in Dresden under Heinrich Schütz and composed some of the music for the Master's funeral. He then spent a year in Copenhagen to study singing with Agostino Fontana.

Eligiusz Niewiadomski was a Polish modernist painter and art critic who sympathized with the right-wing National Democracy movement. In 1922 he assassinated Poland's first President, Gabriel Narutowicz, in his first week in office as president.

Jakub Wujek was a Polish Jesuit, religious writer, Doctor of Theology, Vice-Chancellor of the Vilnius Academy and translator of the Bible into Polish.

Michał Franciszek Mieczysław Matyas was a Polish footballer, who represented such teams as Pogoń Lwów and Polonia Bytom, as well as Poland. Among fans in Poland he was known as Myszka and in the Soviet Union he played under name of Mikhail. His real occupation was a petroleum technician.

Ernst Friedrich Zwirner was an architect born at Jakobswalde [Kotlarnia] in Silesia in 1802, he died at Cologne in 1861. He studied in Breslau and Berlin, and worked at the latter place under Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
