List of Famous people born in Poland

Ingo Friedrich is a former German (Bavarian) Member of the European Parliament. He was elected on the CSU ticket and sits with the EPP-ED Group. Friedrich holds a University degree in Economics. He was a member of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district council (1972–1996) and was the head of the CSU delegation to the European Parliament between 1992 and 1999. He has been awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit, and the Federal Cross of Merit, first class.

Alexander Abusch. He was a German journalist, non-fiction writer, and politician.

Otto Regenbogen was a German linguist and scholar.

Maria Gładkowska is a Polish film, stage, and television actress. She gained critical acclaim in the 1980s that culminated in her Zbigniew Cybulski Award (1988). Gładkowska portrayed Daisy, Princess of Pless, her breakthrough performance in Magnat (1987), which was included in the list of 100 Best Polish Films of all time.

Jerzy Wójcik was a Polish cinematographer, author of screenplays and film and television director, professor of University of Silesia in Katowice and Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Theatre and Television in Łódź.

Zdzisław Ludwik Krzyszkowiak was a Polish track and field athlete, winner of the 3000 metre steeplechase at the 1960 Summer Olympics.
