Guo Xi
Guo Xi was a Chinese landscape painter from Henan Province who lived during the Northern Song dynasty. One text entitled "The Lofty Message of Forest and Streams" is attributed to him. The work covers a variety of themes centered on the appropriate way of painting a landscape. He was a court professional, a literatus, well-educated painter who developed an incredibly detailed system of idiomatic brushstrokes which became important for later painters. One of his most famous works is Early Spring, dated 1072. The work demonstrates his innovative techniques for producing multiple perspectives which he called "the angle of totality." This type of visual representation is also called "Floating Perspective", a technique which displaces the static eye of the viewer and highlights the differences between Chinese and Western modes of spatial representation.
Dazu Huike
Dazu Huike is considered the Second Patriarch of Chinese Chán and the twenty-ninth since Gautama Buddha. The successor to Bodhidharma.
Huo Ke
Huo Ke is a former Chinese political operative who served as an aide to senior official Ling Jihua. He was investigated by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency in January 2015, and later indicted on charges of taking and giving bribes and leaking state secrets.
Fang Xianjue
Fang Xianjue was a Republic of China general who fought in the Second Sino-Japanese War. He was born in a small Jiangsu village gentry family in 1903. After studying with the village tutor, he went to Xuzhou Provincial High School, and later studied at the Nanjing 1st Industrial School, then later went to National Central University. After completing his formal education, he decided to attend Whampoa Military Academy and graduated class of 1926.
Feng Baiju
Feng Baiju, (冯白驹),(1903–1973) was the chief leader of the Hainan Independent Column of Chinese Communist fighters on Hainan Island. Feng led the column in resistance to both the Nationalist Kuomintang, and the Japanese. The Japanese occupation of Hainan lasted from 1939 through 1945. The Communist takeover of Hainan did not occur until the spring of 1950 when mainland Communist forces joined with Feng's local column of fighters. Feng maintained control of political leadership on Hainan for a short time after the Communist takeover, but soon he was removed in favor of leaders who were more palatable to mainland PRC leaders. He suffered greatly during the "anti-localism" campaigns of the 1950s, and again in struggle sessions during the Cultural Revolution, and died in 1973. Today he is celebrated as one of Hainan's local heroes.
Xu Lizhi
Xu Lizhi was a Chinese poet and factory worker. Xu worked for Foxconn and attracted media attention after his suicide, after which his friends published his collection of poems.

Chen Deng
Chen Deng, courtesy name Yuanlong, was a government official and military general who lived in the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. Born in a family of government officials in Xu Province, he started his career as a county chief at the age of 24 and later became an agriculture official under Tao Qian, the Governor of Xu Province. After Tao Qian's death in 194, Chen Deng supported Liu Bei to be the new Governor. However, in 196, he was forced to become a subordinate of the warlord Lü Bu after the latter seized control of Xu Province from Liu Bei. During this time, Chen Deng and his father Chen Gui pretended to be loyal towards Lü Bu, while secretly undermining his influence by dissuading him from allying with another warlord Yuan Shu. Chen Deng also secretly agreed to serve as a mole in Xu Province for the warlord Cao Cao, who controlled the Han central government. Chen Deng was then appointed as the Administrator of Guangling Commandery. During the Battle of Xiapi of 198–199, Chen Deng led his troops to join Cao Cao and assisted him in defeating Lü Bu. After the victory, Chen Deng was given an additional appointment as General Who Calms the Waves. During his tenure in Guangling Commandery, he gained high popularity among the people for good and benevolent governance – to the point where the people even wanted to follow him after learning that he had been reassigned to another commandery. He also resisted two invasions by the forces of Sun Ce, a warlord who controlled territories in the Jiangnan region. He died in an unknown year at the age of 38 due to an illness caused by intestinal parasites.
Yin Xiangjie
Yin Xiangjie is a Chinese Mandopop singer, host, and actor. He rose to fame after singing "Boat Tracker's Love" at the Lantern Festival in Beijing Television in 1994, featuring fellow singer Yu Wenhua.
Song Binbin
Song Binbin, also known as Song Yaowu, was a senior leader in the Chinese Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. She is known for beating her deputy principal Bian Zhongyun to death with wooden sticks, along with other students.
