Shang Kexi was a Chinese general of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. His family had migrated to Liaodong in 1576 and his father, Shang Xueli, served in the army guarding the northeast frontier. As his father did, Shang Kexi joined the army and guarded the frontier against the attack of the Jurchens. With the decay and fall of the Ming Emperors, Shang Kexi sought better fortune in the service of the Qing Dynasty and he was one of the most powerful generals that surrendered to the Qing. He fought for the Qing in Southern China and established his power in Guangdong where he ruled the territory as his own domain amassing wealth and possessing a trained army.

Ni Ping is a mainland Chinese film actress and TV host. Since the early 1990s, Ni shot fame for hosting CCTV New Year's Gala.

During her career as a model she worked with such labels as Dior, Gucci, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen before appearing on the cover of numerous fashion magazines including Marie Claire and i-D. Now retired from modelling, Lü is a fashion designer with her own label Comme Moi.

Han Tong, courtesy name Zhongda, was a Chinese military officer during the Five Dynasties period who became a top general during the Later Zhou dynasty. In the early years of the Later Zhou, he strengthened the northern defense against the hostile Northern Han and Liao, and participated in the 955 invasion of the Later Shu. Since 955 he remained mainly in the capital Kaifeng, and wielded his influence during the reign of the child emperor Guo Zongxun. In 960, when general and former subordinate Zhao Kuangyin usurped the Later Zhou throne, Han Tong and his entire family were massacred by Zhao's officer Wang Yansheng.

Ying Ruocheng was a Chinese actor, director, playwright and vice minister of culture from 1986 to 1990. He first came to the attention of Western audiences for his portrayal of Kublai Khan in the 1982 miniseries Marco Polo. He is best known for playing the part of the governor of the detention camp in the Bernardo Bertolucci's film The Last Emperor, and the role of the Tibetan Buddhist Lama Norbu in Little Buddha. He is also well known as a theater translator, director, and actor for the Beijing People's Art Theatre, particularly for his role as Pockmark Liu in Lao She's masterpiece "Teahouse" and as Willy Loman in "Death of a Salesman" in 1983, directed by Arthur Miller.
