Yang Erche Namu is a Chinese writer and singer of Mosuo ethnicity.

Jiang Gan, courtesy name Ziyi, was a debater and scholar who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. He is best known for his attempt to persuade Zhou Yu, a general serving under the warlord Sun Quan, to defect to Sun Quan's rival Cao Cao after the Battle of Red Cliffs in the winter of 208–209. In the 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the entire incident not only takes place before the battle, but is also heavily dramatised and exaggerated.

Li Yining is a Chinese economist. He has been a leading voice for the privatization of state-owned companies, and his advocacy led to the establishment of China's stock markets in 1990. Nicknamed "Mr. Stock Market", he is credited with providing the theoretical basis for the market-oriented reform that has propelled China's economic growth.

Yu Lan was a Chinese film actress. In 1961, Yu won the award for Best Actress at the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival for her performance in A Revolutionary Family. Her youngest son is Chinese director and Beijing Film Academy professor Tian Zhuangzhuang.

Liu Ba, courtesy name Zichu, was an official in the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period of China. He originally served under the warlord Liu Zhang before becoming a subordinate of Liu Bei after Liu Zhang's surrender to Liu Bei in 214. Liu Ba was instrumental in helping Liu Bei reward his subordinates from the treasury without impoverishing the common people after their conquest of Yi Province. Liu Ba also helped write the Shu Ke (蜀科), the legal code of Shu, along with Zhuge Liang, Fa Zheng, Li Yan and Yi Ji. Liu Ba succeeded Fa Zheng as the Prefect of the Masters of Writing in 220 and held office until his death in 222.

Dongfang Shuo was a Han Dynasty scholar-official, fangshi, author, and court jester to Emperor Wu. In Chinese mythology, Dongfang is considered a Daoist xian and the spirit of Venus who incarnated as a series of ancient ministers including Laozi.

Zhao Fusan (赵复三) (1926–2015) was a Chinese scholar of Christianity. From the 1950s to the 1980s, he was involved in the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), but lived in exile after 1989. Together with Zhao Puchu and Zhao Zichen, they are known as "Three Zhaos" in the academic field of religious studies in Mainland China. He died in Connecticut, U.S. on 15 July 2015.

Hu Qili is a former high-ranking politician of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He was a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and a member of the Secretariat between 1987 and 1989. In 1989, he was purged because of his sympathy toward the students of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and his support for General Secretary Zhao Ziyang. However, he was able to get back into politics in 1991. In 2001, he was named chairman of the Soong Ching-ling Foundation.

Zhu Qingshi FRSC is a Chinese physical chemist and writer. He is the former president of the University of Science and Technology of China (1998-2008), and the founding president of Southern University of Science and Technology (2009-2014).

Zhu Yuchen is a Chinese film actor.
