Wang Tiwu is the founder of the United Daily News and was a member of the Chinese Kuomintang Central Standing Committee.

Yan Yan was a military officer who served under Liu Zhang, the Governor of Yi Province, during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. Although there is very little information about Yan Yan in historical records, he is given a much prominent role in the 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms as a general who initially serves under Liu Zhang before switching allegiance to Liu Bei later.

Chang-lin Tien was a Chinese-American professor of mechanical engineering and university administrator. He was the seventh Chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley (1990–1997), the first Asian to head a major university in the United States.

Martin Yan is a Chinese-American chef and food writer. He has hosted his award-winning PBS-TV cooking show Yan Can Cook since 1982.

Xiao Jun, born Liu Honglin (劉鴻霖), was a Chinese author and intellectual from Linghai, Liaoning, China. Of Manchu ethnicity, Xiao's most famous work in China is his 1934 novel Village in August (八月的鄉村) which gained both popular and critical praise as anti-Japanese literature. He, along with Xiao Hong, is considered one of the most representative authors of the left-wing Northeast Authors Group (東北作家群). The names Xiao Hong and Xiao Jun were chosen by each author so that when put together they would be xiao xiao hongjun.

Dr. Hao Ping is a Chinese politician and historian currently serving as Communist Party Secretary of Peking University. He formerly served as Vice Minister of Education.

Xie Jiarong, courtesy name Jihua, was a Chinese geologist and one of the founders of the Geological Society of China. Xie was the founder of mineral deposit in China.

Xiong Yan is a China-born naturalized American. He was a dissident involved in Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. Xiong Yan studied at Beijing University Law School from 1986–1989. He came to the United States of America as a political refugee in 1992, and later became a chaplain in U.S. Army, serving in Iraq. Xiong Yan is the author of three books, and has earned six degrees.

Xu Jiayu is a Chinese competitive swimmer who specializes in the backstroke. He is the Olympic Silver medalist and twice consecutive world champion in the 100 meters backstroke.
