Yu Minhong, or Michael Yu is the founder and president of New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc., and a member of the central committee of China Democratic League. As the owner of one of the largest private educational services, Yu is known as the "richest teacher in China", and "Godfather of English Training". On Hurun Report's China Rich List 2013, he had an estimated wealth $1.1 billion and was ranked No. 245 on the list. On the same list of 2015, he had an estimated wealth of $1.09 billion and was ranked No. 487. Also he was ranked No.1759 on Hurun Global Rich List 2015, with an estimated wealth of $1.1 billion. As of November 2018, he is ranked #148 on Forbes China Rich List 2018 and #1020 on Forbes Billionaires 2018, with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion.

Pang Yao is a Hong Kong road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team China Liv Pro Cycling. She represented her nation as a junior on the road at the 2012 and 2013 UCI Road World Championships and at the track at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

Zhao Liping was a Chinese police chief and politician who spent most of his career in Inner Mongolia. He served successively as the head of the region's Public Security Department, Vice-Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Vice-Chairman of the regional political advisory body. Zhao was also a writer. He was arrested by police in the eastern Inner Mongolian city of Chifeng in March 2015 on charges of intentional homicide. He was the first known provincial-level official to be convicted of murder in the history of the People's Republic of China. He was executed in 2017.

Shen Yiqin is a Chinese politician of Bai ethnic heritage serving since September 2017 as the Governor of Guizhou, a province in southwestern China. She is the first female Governor of Guizhou in history.

Wang Zhonglin is a Chinese politician. He has been Communist Party Secretary of Wuhan since February 2020. Previously he served as Communist Party Secretary of Jinan and a Shandong provincial party standing committee member. Wang is a delegate to the 13th National People's Congress.

Wang Chao is a baseball player from the People's Republic of China. He became the first player from the People's Republic to sign with a Major League Baseball team when he signed with the Seattle Mariners as a pitcher on August 9, 2001. He played in the Rookie classification Arizona League before being released. He returned to China, converted to an outfielder and now plays with the Tianjin Lions of the China Baseball League. He also plays outfield for the national team of the People's Republic of China.

Zhou Yun is a Chinese actress.

Wang Jun was a Chinese business executive. He served as Chairman of the Poly Group, a state-owned conglomerate with businesses ranging from arms trading to antiquities. He also served as Chairman the state-owned China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) and held the rank of a government minister. He retired in 2006 after reaching the age of 65. He was born in Hunan to the Communist revolutionary elder Wang Zhen.
