Gao Gang was a Communist Party of China (CPC) leader during the Chinese Civil War and the early years of the People's Republic of China (PRC), before becoming the victim of the first major purge within the CPC since before 1949. The events surrounding Gao's purge, the so-called "Gao Gang Affair", are still the subject of debate: a limited amount of research has been done on the topic, partly due to the relatively small amount of information available.

Zhong Yao, also referred to as Zhong You, courtesy name Yuanchang, was a government official and calligrapher who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty and Three Kingdoms period of China. He served in the state of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period. His calligraphy was highly regarded as he was known as one of the Four Talented Calligraphers (四賢) in the history of Chinese calligraphy.

Xu Lin is a Chinese politician, who serving as the director of the State Council Information Office since August 2018. He served as the main official in charge of internet policy, the head of the Cyberspace Administration of China, from June 2016 to July 2018. Xu was previously the head of the Shanghai propaganda department and later Communist Party Committee Secretary of Pudong.

Rabban Bar Ṣawma, also known as Rabban Ṣawma or Rabban Çauma, was a Turkic monk turned diplomat of the "Nestorian" Church of the East in China. He is known for embarking on a pilgrimage from the Yuan dynasty to Jerusalem with one of his students, Rabban Markos. Due to military unrest along the way, they never reached their destination, but instead spent many years in Ilkhanate-controlled Baghdad.

Li Shangfu is a Chinese aerospace engineer and general of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He has been Director of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission since September 2017. He previously served as Deputy Commander of the PLA Strategic Support Force and Deputy Commander of the PLA General Armaments Department. He spent 31 years working at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, including 10 years as its director.

Chen Zhu is a Chinese hematologist, molecular biologist, and politician. He is chairman of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, a vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and President of the Red Cross Society of China. He formerly served as China's Minister of Health. Chen also holds a professorship at the School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Colin Huang or Huang Zheng is a Chinese billionaire businessman. He is the founder and CEO of e-commerce company Pinduoduo incorporated in the Cayman Islands. Huang is also the owner of at least 3 other limited liability Cayman companies each owning a 7.7% stake in Pinduoduo.

Xiang Junbo is the former chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).

Kyabje Nawang Gehlek Rimpoche was a Tibetan Buddhist lama born in Lhasa, Tibet on October 26, 1939. His personal name was Gelek; kyabje and rimpoche are titles meaning "teacher" and "precious," respectively. He was a tulku, an incarnate lama of Drepung Monastic University, where he received the highest scholastic degree of Geshe Lharampa, equivalent to a PhD, at the exceptionally young age of 20. His father was the 10th Demo Rinpoche and his uncle was the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. He was educated alongside the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.

Sheng Yen, born Zhang Baokang, was a Chinese Buddhist monk, a religious scholar, and one of the mainstream teachers of Chan Buddhism. He was a 57th generational dharma heir of Linji Yixuan in the Linji school and a third-generation dharma heir of Hsu Yun. In the Caodong lineage, Sheng Yen was a 52nd-generation Dharma heir of Dongshan Liangjie (807-869), and a direct Dharma heir of Dongchu (1908–1977).
