Yuusuke Kuniyoshi , known simply as Yuusuke (ユウスケ), was a vocalist of the Japanese band High and Mighty Color. He was the last member and the first vocalist to join the band before they were known as High and Mighty Color. He was born on January 25, 1985. He is known mainly for the screaming vocals in most of the band's songs. Yuusuke credits Metallica as one of his major musical influences.

Koki Eto is a Japanese former professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2019. He held the WBA interim flyweight title in 2013 and challenged for the WBC super-flyweight title in 2015.

Kazuhiko Ishimine is a Japanese former Nippon Professional Baseball outfielder.

Akiko Urasaki , known professionally as Awich , is an Okinawa-born Japanese hip hop artist. She made her major label debut with Universal Music Japan in 2020. Her stage name is short for "Asian wish child," which is the literal meaning of the Japanese characters in her given name.

Keiko Itokazu is a Japanese politician, an independent and member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. A native of Yomitan, Okinawa and high school graduate, she served in the assembly of Okinawa Prefecture for three terms, starting in 1992, and was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2004. After running unsuccessfully for governorship of Okinawa Prefecture in 2006, she was re-elected to the House of Councillors in 2007.

Ankichi Arakaki born in 1899 in Shuri Okinawa became an Okinawan martial arts master who, despite dying at the age of 28 in 1927, is notable for aiding in the evolution of Shōrin-ryū karate. He was extremely important in the education of Shōshin Nagamine, who later went on to found Matsubayashi-ryū karate. He was also the uncle of Ansei Ueshiro, the chief instructor at Shoshin Nagamine's original dojo and creator of Fukyugata Sandan.

Keisaku Itokazu is a Japanese former professional baseball pitcher in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. He played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters from 2009 to 2012.
