Willem Godschalck van Focquenbroch
Willem Godschalck van Focquenbroch was a Dutch poet and playwright. Aside from satirical and burlesque plays and poetry, he also wrote more serious works in a Petrarchic tradition. Whereas there was little attention for Focquenbroch in the nineteenth century, interest in him renewed in the twentieth century.
Pieter Sjoerds Gerbrandy
Pieter Sjoerds Gerbrandy was a Dutch politician of the defunct Anti-Revolutionary Party (ARP), now merged into Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), and a jurist who served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 3 September 1940 until 25 June 1945, based in London during the German occupation of the Netherlands.

Emanuel Querido was a successful Dutch publisher as the founder and owner of N.V. Em. Querido Uitgeversmaatschappij, which published Dutch titles, and of Querido Verlag, which published titles of German writers in exile from Nazi Germany. Although he and his wife were killed by the Nazis in 1943, his company has gone on to publish several important authors.
