He specializes in feel-good "zero to hero" films, where a group of people take up an unlikely activity, face a number of obstacles, but finally succeed. His film Waterboys was particularly successful and led to a TV series which entered its third season in 2005. He was awarded Best Screenplay at the 2005 Yokohama Film Festival for his film Swing Girls.

Kazuyuki Morisaki is a former Japanese football player. He is the twin brother of Koji Morisaki.

Kim Ji-hoon is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his romantic comedies on television such as The Golden Age of Daughters-in-Law (2007), Love Marriage, Stars Falling from the Sky, and My Cute Guys (2012). In 2010, he also appeared in the film Natalie, and cable mystery series Unsolved.

Mengistu Haile Mariam is an Ethiopian soldier and politician who was the president of Ethiopia from 1977 to 1991 and General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Ethiopia from 1984 to 1991. He was the chairman of the Derg, the socialist military junta that governed Ethiopia, from 1977 to 1987, and the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (PDRE) from 1987 to 1991. He is considered to be one of the most notorious African leaders of the 20th century, and his reign to be infamous for its brutality, autocracy and economic mismanagement.

Ayad Allawi is an Iraqi politician. He served as Vice President of Iraq from 2014 to 2015 and from 2016 to 2018. Previously he was interim Prime Minister of Iraq from 2004 to 2005 and the President of the Governing Council of Iraq in 2003.

Viktor Vasilievich Tikhonov is a Latvian-born Russian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Tikhonov was originally selected 28th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, by the Phoenix Coyotes. After several years in the NHL with the Coyotes, Tikhonov moved to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in Russia, where he spent four years with SKA St. Petersburg. In 2015, he returned to the NHL, signing a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, appearing in 11 games for them before he was claimed on waivers by the Coyotes.
