Francis Joseph "Lefty" O'Doul was an American Major League Baseball player who went on to become an extraordinarily successful manager in the minor leagues. He was also a vital figure in the establishment of professional baseball in Japan.

Bernard Darniche is a French former rally driver. He won the European Rally Championship in 1976 and 1977 and the French Rally Championship in 1976 and 1978, each time behind the wheel of a Lancia Stratos HF. He also holds the record for most victories in the Tour de Corse which he won six times, a feat later equalled by Didier Auriol.

Rüdiger Kauf is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. After having a short spell at VfB Stuttgart he moved to Arminia Bielefeld in 2001. He is called "Rübe" by the Arminia fans.

Pasquale Passarelli is a retired Italian-born German wrestler who competed in the Greco-Roman bantamweight division. He won a world and a European title in 1981 and an Olympic gold medal in 1984. He missed the 1980 Olympics due to their boycott by West Germany.

Pierre-Gilles Lakafia is a French rugby union player. He plays at Wing for Castres. He is the brother of Biarritz Olympique Number 8, Rafaël Lakafia and the son of former French javelin champion Jean-Paul Lakafia, and his mother was a discus thrower. His father is originally from Wallis and Futuna. He was a member of the French sevens team playing at the 2011 Hong Kong Sevens.

László Lovász is a Hungarian mathematician, best known for his work in combinatorics, for which he was awarded the Wolf Prize and the Knuth Prize in 1999, and the Kyoto Prize in 2010. He was the president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences between 2014 and 2020. He served as president of the International Mathematical Union between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2010.

Malcolm III was King of Scots from 1058 to 1093. He was later nicknamed "Canmore". Malcolm's long reign of 35 years preceded the beginning of the Scoto-Norman age. Henry I of England and Eustace III of Boulogne were his sons-in-law, making him the maternal grandfather of Empress Matilda, William Adelin and Matilda of Boulogne. All three of them were prominent in English politics during the 12th century.
