She gained online popularity in 2015 after her YouTube video "The Power of Makeup" became popular and inspired many other videos of people showing their faces with and without makeup. As of January 2021, her YouTube channel has 13.8 million subscribers and over 1.4 billion video views.

In 1996, Smith won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, for "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By", featuring American R&B singer Mary J. Blige who he currently stars with in Power Book II: Ghost, spin-off of its original show Power.

He was previously the Bishop of Nanterre beginning in April 2014 and before that an Auxiliary Bishop of Paris. As of August 2020, he is ranked as the world's sixth best active heavyweight by The Ring magazine and Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and tenth by BoxRec. He was ranked by BoxRec as the world's top 10 heavyweight from 2014 to 2018.
