Both films by German film director Marco Kreuzpaintner. His most outstanding work was in the movie Free Fall (2013), alongside Max Riemelt and Katharina Schüttler, directed by Stephan Lacant. He then starred in an Oscar-nominated film, Never Look Away (2018), directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and starring alongside Tom Schilling, Sebastian Koch, Paula Beer, and Saskia Rosendahl.

In 2017 he set the speed record for sailing around the globe in 42 days 16 hours 40 minutes and 35 seconds finishing on 17 December. He was sailing singlehanded in the 30 metre Trimaran Macif.
