Gabriele Rangone O.Min.Obs. was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was bishop of Eger lat. Agria.

Edoardo Borromeo was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was Maestro di Camera to Pius IX and was Cardinal-Deacon of Santi Vito, Modesto e Crescenzio from 1868 to 1878. He was the seventh cardinal to be selected from the Borromeo family.

Enrico Sala was an Italian racing cyclist. He finished in eighth place in the 1909 Giro d'Italia.

Antonio Ghislanzoni was an Italian journalist, poet, and novelist who wrote librettos for Verdi, among other composers, of which the best known are Aida and the revised version of La forza del destino.

Angelo Mai was an Italian Cardinal and philologist. He won a European reputation for publishing for the first time a series of previously unknown ancient texts. These he was able to discover and publish, first while in charge of the Ambrosian Library in Milan and then in the same role at the Vatican Library. The texts were often in parchment manuscripts that had been washed off and reused; he was able to read the lower text using chemicals. In particular he was able to locate a substantial portion of the much sought-after De republica of Cicero and the complete works of Virgilius Maro Grammaticus.

Grata of Bergamo is an Italian saint and martyr, and sister of Asteria of Bergamo. Her parents were Saint Lupo of Bergamo and Saint Adelaide, duke and duchess of Bergamo. According to hagiographer Agnes B.C. Dunbar, Grata's husband was "a great king in Germany". She did not become a Christian until after his death, when she converted her parents to Christianity and persuaded them to build the cathedral of Bergamo. She became known as a holy woman in Bergamo, "especially for her zeal in securing Christian burial for the bodies of martyrs". She built three churches and a hospital for the poor in Begamo. She and her sister Asteria buried the body of St. Alexander of Rome, after Grata wrapped his head in a napkin. After her parents' death, she governed Bergamo "with wisdom and benevolence". Grata was put to death for burying Alexander. Her feast day is September 4.

Giovanni Battista Buonamente was an Italian composer and violinist in the early Baroque era. He served the Gonzagas in Mantua until about 1622, and from about 1626 to 1630 served the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor in Vienna. Notably, in 1627 he played for the coronation festivities in Prague of Ferdinand III, son of the emperor. He then served as the violinist of Madonna della Steccata church in Parma. After a short service there, he arrived at his final position in 1633 of maestro di cappella at Assisi.

Ulpiano Volpi or Volpiano Volpi was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Novara (1619–1629), and Archbishop of Chieti (1609–1615).
