Elīna Garanča is a Latvian mezzo-soprano. She began to study singing in her hometown of Riga in 1996 and continued her studies in Vienna and in the United States. By 1999 she had won first place in a significant competition in Finland and had begun a career in Europe. Worldwide engagements followed her 2003 Salzburg Festival appearances.

Mairis Briedis is a Latvian professional boxer. He is a three-time cruiserweight world champion, having held the IBF and Ring titles since September 2020; the WBC title from 2017 to 2018; and the WBO title in 2019. Upon winning the WBC title in 2017, he became the first Latvian to hold a world boxing title. He was awarded the Order of the Three Stars in 2017. As a professional, he has fought world champions Oleksander Usyk, Marco Huck, Krzysztof Głowacki, Manuel Charr, and Yuniel Dorticos. As of September 2020, he is ranked as the world's best active cruiserweight by BoxRec and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.

Valdis Pelšs is a TEFI-awarded Soviet and Russian television presenter, television director, television producer and musician of Latvian descent and Zolotoi Grammofon-awarded musical artist. Valdis Pelšs currently works as a screen actor and manages child programs subdivision on Channel One. He hosted several popular game shows, such as Ugadai Melodiu, Russian Roulette and Rozygrysh. Pelšs is a former vocalist and percussion instrument player in Neschastny Sluchai band, which was founded by him and Alexei Kortnev in 1983.

Māris Rūdolfs Liepa was a Soviet Latvian ballet dancer. He graduated from Riga Choreography School where he was taught by Valentin Blinov. He performed in Moscow for the first time in 1950. At the height of career, Liepa was considered one of the finest male dancers in the world and one of the most versatile, at home in a wide range of roles.

John Konrads was an Australian freestyle swimmer of the 1950s and 1960s, who won the 1500 m freestyle at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. In his career, he set 26 individual world records, and after his swimming career ended, was the Australasian director of L'Oréal, as well as campaigning for the Sydney Olympics bid. Along with his sister Ilsa Konrads, who also set multiple world records, they were known as the Konrad Kids.

Aloise (Alexei) Yegorovich Trupp, was the Head Footman in the household of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Trupp was born in Vitebsk Governorate, Russian Empire. He was killed with the Romanov family at Ekaterinburg following the Russian Revolution of 1917.

Wolfgang Lüth was the second most successful German U-boat captain of World War II. His career record of 46 merchant ships plus the French submarine Doris sunk during 15 war patrols, with a total displacement of 225,204 gross register tons (GRT), was second only to that of Korvettenkapitän Otto Kretschmer, whose 47 sinkings totaled 273,043 GRT.
