Joel Theodore Stransky is a South African former rugby union player. A fly-half, he is known for scoring all of South Africa's points, including the winning drop goal, against New Zealand in the 1995 Rugby World Cup final.

Noel Langley was a South African-born novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director. He wrote the screenplay which formed the basis for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and is one of the three credited screenwriters for the film. His finished script for the film was revised by Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Woolf, the other credited screenwriters. Langley objected to their changes and lamented the final cut upon first seeing it, but later revised his opinion. He attempted to write a sequel based on The Marvelous Land of Oz using many of the concepts he had added to its predecessor, but this was never released.

Kumi Naidoo is a South African human rights and environmental activist.

Lionel "Rusty" Bernstein was a Jewish South African anti-apartheid activist and political prisoner. He played a key role in political organizations such as the South African Communist Party (SACP) and the African National Congress (ANC). He helped form the Congress of Democrats to bolster white participation in the ANC, and he brought its allies together to establish a Congress of the People, working closely with Nelson Mandela.

Louis Botha was a South African politician who was the first Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa—the forerunner of the modern South African state. A Boer war hero during the Second Boer War, he would eventually fight to have South Africa become a British Dominion.

Michelle Butler-Emmett is a South African badminton player. She was the All-Africa Games silver medalists in the mixed doubles in 2015 and in the team event in 2011 and 2015. Butler-Emmett won the African Championships in the mixed doubles in 2013 and 2014, also in the women's doubles in 2017.

John Langalibalele Dube was a South African essayist, philosopher, educator, politician, publisher, editor, novelist and poet. He was the founding president of the South African Native National Congress (SANNC), which became the African National Congress in 1923. Dube served as the president of SANNC between 1912 and 1917. He was brought to America by returning missionaries and attended Oberlin Preparatory Academy. He returned to South Africa, where in 1903 he and his first wife, Nokutela Dube, founded a newspaper, what is now Ilanga lase Natal.

Ross Kettle is a South African actor, known for directing the play Soweto's Burning, and best known as Jeffrey Conrad in the NBC American television soap opera Santa Barbara.

David Bateson is a South African-born English actor, voice actor and comedian. He is best known for providing the voice of Agent 47, the protagonist of IO Interactive's video game series Hitman, having played the role since the year 2000 in each of the franchise’s eight main games.
