He primarily denounced corruption and gangsterism rampant during the governments of Ramón Grau and Carlos Prío which preceded the Batista era. He believed corruption was the most important problem Cuba faced.

Farida Hisham Osman is an Egyptian competitive swimmer who specializes in butterfly and freestyle events. An All-Africa Games gold medalist and Egyptian national champion and record-holder. Osman is the fastest female swimmer in Egypt and Africa, she is currently coached by Teri McKeever. Osman holds the senior national records for all the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events, as well as African records in the 50m and 100m butterfly.

Franziska Liebhardt is a Paralympic athlete from Germany. She competes in throwing events in the F37 classification and in the long jump in the T37 classification. As of September 2016, she holds the women's F37 world record in the shot put, which she set whilst competing at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Alonso Ancira Elizondo is a Mexican businessman who is the controlling shareholder and chairman of Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA). He purchased AHMSA from the Mexican Government in 1991, when the government privatized the steel industry. In March 2006, he was elected as president of the Iron and Steel Mexican Chamber (CANACERO) for the years 2006-2007.
