Dagur Bergþóruson Eggertsson is an Icelandic politician who is the Mayor of Reykjavik City. He was the vice-chairman of the Social Democratic Alliance from 2009 until 2013. He was first elected to the city council of Reykjavík in a 2002 election and became the mayor on 16 October 2007. Dagur is formally educated as a physician but also has a master's degree in Human Rights and International Law from the University of Lund in Sweden.

Þorsteinn Pálsson is a former Prime Minister of Iceland for the Independence Party. He served from 8 July 1987 to 28 September 1988. Þorsteinn led the Independence Party from 1983 to 1991, when he lost an inner partial election to then vice-chairman of the party and mayor of Reykjavík, Davíð Oddsson.

Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson or Jónsi is an Icelandic singer and a former member of the band Í svörtum fötum. He represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 and finished 19th. Jónsi once again represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan in a duet with singer Greta Salóme, qualifying for the Eurovision final and finishing in 20th place. Jón Jósep also performed the opening theme song to the Icelandic children's television show LazyTown.

María Ellingsen is an Icelandic actress starring in movies such as The Mighty Ducks 2. She can speak Icelandic, English, German, Danish and Faroese. She had a contract role on NBC's daytime drama Santa Barbara as Katrina Rukyer from 1991 to 1992.

Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson is an Icelandic musician; he is the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his "angelic" falsetto or countertenor voice. He is blind in his right eye from birth as a result of a broken optic nerve from the brain. Apart from Sigur Rós, Jónsi also performs together with his ex-partner Alex Somers as an art collaboration called Jónsi & Alex. They released their self-titled first book in November 2006, which was an embossed hardcover limited to 1,000 copies. The two also released the album Riceboy Sleeps, in July 2009. They announced their separation in 2019, after having been together for 16 years.

Jón Arnar Magnússon is a former decathlete from Iceland. He has won silver and bronze medals at world indoor championships, all in heptathlon, as decathlon is unsuitable for indoor contests. Jón is the Icelandic record holder at 110 m hurdles, long jump and decathlon and former record holder at 100 m and 200 m.

Ögmundur Jónasson is an Icelandic politician who has served as a member of Althingi, the Icelandic Parliament, since 1995. He is currently the Chairman of the Parliament’s Constitutional and Supervisory Committee and is a representative to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He is the former Minister of the Interior (2011-2013); Minister of Justice and Human Rights and Minister of Transport, Communications and Local Government (2010-2011); and Minister of Health and Social Security (2009).

Ólína Kjerúlf Þorvarðardóttir was a member of the Althing, representing the Social Democratic Alliance for the Northwest Constituency from 2009 to 2016.
