Wong Ker-lee, was a Fujianese Hong Kong businessman and politician. He was first Mayor of Taichung after the Chinese resumption of Taiwan from 1946 to 1947 when he resigned for the February 28 Incident. After he moved to Hong Kong, he founded several banks including the Overseas Trust Bank and the Hong Kong Industrial and Commercial Bank. From the 1980s, he was the member of the National Committee of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and member of its standing committee from 1988 to 2003.

Li Jingjing is a Chinese slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 2002 to 2013. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, she was eliminated in the qualifying round of the K1 event, finishing in 18th place. Four years later in Beijing, Li was eliminated in the semifinals of the same event. She was classified in 13th place. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London she was once again eliminated in the semifinal of the K1 event, finishing in 11th place.

Chen Zhangliang graduated from the South China College of Tropical Crops in 1983, and then was sent to study in the United States by the Chinese Government. He finished his Ph.D. in Washington University in St. Louis. After he returned to China in 1987, he worked in Peking University as dean of faculty of biology and chair of school of life science. He became the vice president of Peking University in 1995, and president of China Agricultural University in 2002.

Wu Jingbiao is a Chinese weightlifter. He won the silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics in the category of weightlifting. After winning the silver medal, he apologized for "shaming the motherland" by not winning a gold medal.

Wong Po-yan was a Hong Kong industrialist and politician. He was the first chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong from 1995 to 1999.

Lin Wu is a Chinese politician and the current Governor of Shanxi province. Previously, he served as the deputy governor and the chief of the CPC Organization Department of Jilin province.

Xie Wanying, better known by her pen name Bing Xin or Xie Bingxin, was one of the most prolific Chinese women writers of the 20th century. Many of her works were written for young readers. She was the chairperson of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Her pen name Bing Xin carries the meaning of a morally pure heart, and is taken from a line in a Tang Dynasty poem by Wang Changling.

Yu Dayou (1503–1579), courtesy name Zhifu, art name Xujiang, was a Chinese general and martial artist best known for countering the wokou pirates along China's southeastern coast during the reign of the Jiajing Emperor in the Ming dynasty.

Chen Jingrun, also known as Jing-Run Chen, was a Chinese mathematician who made significant contributions to number theory, including Chen's theorem and the Chen prime.

Tian Houwei is a badminton player from China. He was the 2009 World and Asian Junior Champions in the boys' singles event. Tian was part of the Chinese national team that won the silver medals at the 2013 Summer Universiade and 2014 Asian Games.
