Iris Xiomara Castro de Zelaya or simply Xiomara Castro is a Honduran politician. She was a candidate for the 2013 presidential election representing the left-wing Libre Party. The wife of deposed former President Manuel Zelaya, Castro was a leader of the movement resisting the 2009 Honduran coup d'état that ousted her husband from power prematurely.

Nasry Juan Asfura Zablah, also known as Tito Asfura, is a Honduran politician. He served as a deputy of the National Congress of Honduras representing the National Party of Honduras for Francisco Morazán and is the mayor of his nation's capital of Tegucigalpa.

Salvador Alejandro César Nasralla Salum is a Honduran sports journalist, television presenter, master of ceremonies, businessman, and politician. He is the presenter of the TV programs 5 Deportivo and X-0 da Dinero, and has been called "El señor de la televisión". He was the founder of the Anti-Corruption Party in 2011 when he stood for president in the 2013 Honduran general election. He stood again in the 2017 Honduran general election for the political alliance Alianza de Oposición contra la Dictadura, made up of Liberty and Refoundation and the Innovation and Unity Party. He lost the election, but the Organization of American States called for a new vote amidst widespread irregularities.

Juan Ramón Matta-Ballesteros is a former major narcotics trafficker who has been credited with being one of the first to connect Mexican drug traffickers with the Colombian cocaine cartels. This connection paved the way for a major increase in the amount of cocaine smuggled into the United States during the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. Matta was indicted for operating several major cocaine smuggling rings in United States in the early 1980s. He was also one of the narcotics traffickers accused of the kidnap and murder of American DEA agent Enrique Camarena in 1985.

He is the current Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, is the former President of Caritas Internationalis and served as President of the Latin American Episcopal Conference (CELAM) from 1995 to 1999. Rodríguez was elevated to the cardinalate in 2001. He has been the Vatican's spokesman with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, on the issue of Third World debt.
