He has been a member of The Republicans since the party was established in 2015. He served as Mayor of the Fifth Sector of Marseille from 1983 to 1989 and again from 1995 until 2014. The Government of Azerbaijan has blacklisted Teissier who visited Artsakh in 2011 without Baku's permission.
