Because he liked to bite his victims, he got the nickname The Vampire of Muizen. In 1974, he was sentenced to death by an Antwerp cour d'assises, which was automatically converted to life imprisonment.

Matthias Casse is a Belgian judoka. In 2017, Matthias Casse became junior world champion in Zagreb, the first Belgian male judoka to achieve this since Johan Laats in 1986. That same year, he won his first judo grand prix medal at senior level, winning a bronze medal in The Hague. In 2019 he won the gold medal at the European Games and at the Judo World Masters. After having won the Paris Grand Slam in 2020 he became the no. 1 on the world ranking in his category. In June 2021, he became the first Belgian male judo world champion at the senior level by winning the gold at the 2021 World Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Timmy Simons is a former Belgian professional footballer who last played for Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League. He played as a defensive midfielder, and is known for his tireless work ethic and penalty-taking ability, having scored 48 competitive goals through penalty, missing only 5. In 2012, at age 36, Simons was both the outfield player with the most minutes and the most kilometres in the Bundesliga. Simons' former clubs include Lommel, Club Brugge, PSV Eindhoven and 1. FC Nürnberg. He has captained both Club Brugge and PSV Eindhoven, and won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 2002 while playing for Club Brugge.
