He was named the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year due to his outstanding achievements at Rio. He also was a member of the panel on the AFL Footy Show in 2019. He is the only man to complete the Calendar-Year Grand Slam in quad doubles, winning all four major titles in 2019; in addition he has also won a non-calendar year Grand Slam in quad singles.
