Jürgen Roland, born Jürgen Schellack was a German film director. Roland was described as the "father of German TV crime shows". He directed about 80 TV productions and 30 movies.

Juan José Gerardi Conedera was a Guatemalan Roman Catholic bishop and human rights defender who was long active in working with the indigenous Mayan peoples of the country. In the 1970s he gained government recognition of indigenous languages as official languages, and helped secure permission for radio stations to broadcast in indigenous languages. In 1988 he was appointed to the government's National Reconciliation Commission to begin the process of accounting for abuses during the civil war.

Masahito Moriyama is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet. A native of Nishinomiya, Hyogo and graduate the University of Tokyo he joined the Ministry of Transport in 1977. He was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2005.

Mathias Seger is a Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and the ZSC Lions of the National League (NL). Seger began his professional career with SC Rapperswil-Jona in 1996. He played three seasons with Rapperswil-Jona before joining the Lions in 1999. With the Swiss men's national team he won a silver medal at the 2013 World Championships. Seger also won the 2009 Champions League as well as six National League titles, all with the ZSC Lions. He will be inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2020.
