Alexis Rodríguez (born 1978) is a Cuban wrestler. He was Olympic bronze medalist in Freestyle wrestling in 2000. He is the world champion in 1998. He also competed at the 2004 Olympics, where he placed fifth.

José Siro González Bacallao was a Cuban Roman Catholic priest and prelate. He served as the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pinar del Río, based in the city of Pinar del Río, from 1982 until 2006. He remained bishop emeritus until his death in 2021.

Juan Martínez Brito is a retired discus thrower from Cuba, who represented his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics. His personal best is 70.00 m, thrown on May 21, 1983 in Havana.

Manuel "Guajiro" Mirabal is a Cuban trumpeter, best known for his work with the Buena Vista Social Club.

Odlanier Solís Fonte is a Cuban professional boxer. He has challenged once for the WBC heavyweight title in 2011, and is a former top-rated contender in that division. As an amateur heavyweight, Solis was one of the most celebrated and decorated amateur stars of the 2000s, winning a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics, and three consecutive golds at the World Championships in 2001, 2003, and 2005.

Miguel Mariano Gómez y Arias was a Cuban politician who served as 7th President of Cuba for seven months in 1936.

Carlos Valdés Galán, better known as Patato, was a Cuban conga player. In 1954, he emigrated from La Habana to New York City where he continued his prolific career as a sideman for several jazz and Latin music ensembles, and occasionally as a bandleader. He contributed to the development of the tunable conga drum which revolutionized the use of the instrument in the US. His experimental descarga albums recorded for Latin Percussion are considered the counterpart to the commercial salsa boom of the 1970s. Tito Puente once called him "the greatest conguero alive today".

Ariel Hernández Azcuy is a boxer from Cuba, who won two Olympic gold medals in the Middleweight division (71–75 kg); at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics. He captured the world title at the 1995 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Berlin, just two months after having triumphed at the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata.

Alfredo de Zayas y Alfonso, usually known as Alfredo de Zayas under Spanish naming customs and also known as Alfredo Zayas, was a Cuban lawyer, poet and political figure. He served as prosecutor, judge, mayor of Havana, secretary of the Constitutional Convention, Senator 1905, president of the Senate 1906, Vice President of Cuba 1908–1913 and President of Cuba from May 20, 1921, to May 20, 1925.

Héctor Vinent Cháron was a Cuban boxer, who won the Light Welterweight Gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics and 1996 Summer Olympics. Hector appears in Brin-Jonathan Butler's forthcoming documentary Split Decision. He currently trains athletes at the Istanbul based gym Mugenhous in Turkey.
