Boaventura de Sousa Santos is a Professor at the School of Economics at the University of Coimbra, Distinguished Legal Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, Global Legal Scholar at the University of Warwick and Director of the Centre for Social Studies (CES) at the University of Coimbra.

Joana Marques Vidal is a Portuguese lawyer who served as the Attorney General of Portugal between 2012 and 2018, the first woman to hold the post.

Afonso Cruz is a Portuguese novelist, animator, illustrator and musician. Born in Figueira da Foz, Cruz studied at the António Arroio Arts High School in Lisbon, at the College of Fine Arts of Lisbon and at the Madeira Institute of Plastic Arts.

Ana Catarina Mendes is a Portuguese politician. As a member of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS) she has been a deputy in the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic since 1995 and, from 2019, led the party in the National Assembly. In March 2022, she was appointed Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the XXIII Constitutional Government.
