Sigurjón Sighvatsson, also known as Joni Sighvatsson, is an Icelandic Hollywood film producer and businessman.

Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir is an Icelandic politician. A graduate of the University of Iceland and the Bologna Center of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, she was Iceland's Minister for the Environment from 24 May 2007 to 2009. She was member of the Althing from 1999 to 2011, first elected as a member of Women's List, then the Social Democratic Alliance.

Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir is an Icelandic politician from the Social Democratic Alliance who has served as Minister for Foreign Affairs (2007–2009) and leader of the Alliance (2005–2009). She served as representative of UN Women to Turkey and designated regional director for Europe and Central Asia.

María Ellingsen is an Icelandic actress starring in movies such as The Mighty Ducks 2. She can speak Icelandic, English, German, Danish and Faroese. She had a contract role on NBC's daytime drama Santa Barbara as Katrina Rukyer from 1991 to 1992.

Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson is an Icelandic musician; he is the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his "angelic" falsetto or countertenor voice. He is blind in his right eye from birth as a result of a broken optic nerve from the brain. Apart from Sigur Rós, Jónsi also performs together with his ex-partner Alex Somers as an art collaboration called Jónsi & Alex. They released their self-titled first book in November 2006, which was an embossed hardcover limited to 1,000 copies. The two also released the album Riceboy Sleeps, in July 2009. They announced their separation in 2019, after having been together for 16 years.

Ögmundur Jónasson is an Icelandic politician who has served as a member of Althingi, the Icelandic Parliament, since 1995. He is currently the Chairman of the Parliament’s Constitutional and Supervisory Committee and is a representative to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He is the former Minister of the Interior (2011-2013); Minister of Justice and Human Rights and Minister of Transport, Communications and Local Government (2010-2011); and Minister of Health and Social Security (2009).

Ólína Kjerúlf Þorvarðardóttir was a member of the Althing, representing the Social Democratic Alliance for the Northwest Constituency from 2009 to 2016.

Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir, known outside Iceland simply as Greta Salóme, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and violinist in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. She represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, in a duet with singer Jónsi with the song "Never Forget". They qualified from the first semi-final into the Eurovision final and eventually finished in 20th place with 46 points. She represented Iceland again, this time as a soloist, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Hear Them Calling", where she failed to qualify.
