Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky is a Russian-born composer, conductor and classical pianist who lives in Switzerland. He is one of the first composers of minimalism ; "La Belle Musique N.3" (1977) is the first work for orchestra in the minimalist field. He emigrated to Paris from Moscow in 1974, and now lives in Switzerland. He has collaborated with numerous musical artists, notably with the pianist Martha Argerich, with whom he has recorded works by Rachmaninoff and Brahms.

Leyla Mutallim qizi Guliyeva is an Azerbaijani television presenter. On 22, 24 and 26 May 2012 she hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan together with Eldar Gasimov and Nargiz Birk-Petersen.

Shakhriyar Mamedyarov is an Azerbaijani chess grandmaster. As of February 2021, he is ranked as No. 1 in Azerbaijan and No. 8 in the world. His personal best rating of 2820 makes him the sixth-highest-rated player of all time in chess history.

Ilham Azizaga oglu Zakiyev is an Azerbaijani blind judoka. He began studying judo when he was 11 years of age. In 1998, when he was 18, he went to serve in Azerbaijani army in the Aşağı Əbdürrəhmanlı village of Fizuli Rayon. He served on the frontline of the conflict zone. On 4 February 1999, he was wounded by a bullet to the head by an Armenian sniper, while on a combat mission. The bullet passed through the entire head, entering from the left and exiting via the right temple. As a result, Zakiyev has completely lost his eyesight. After a long rehabilitation he returned to the sport but as a paralympian. He is the holder of a 6-dan black belt.

Nazim Suleymanov is a Soviet and Azerbaijani football coach and a former player best known as a striker for Alania Vladikavkaz in the 1990s.

Sabina Babayeva is an Azerbaijani singer. She represented Azerbaijan in the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, held in Baku, Azerbaijan on 26 May 2012, with the song "When the Music Dies", as the 13th act, and finished 4th overall.
